Male Residential Treatment Center
Our residential treatment center (RTC) program is designed for adolescent males who require intensive and structured treatment for emotional, behavioral and substance abuse, and psychological problems. The treatment center is located in Las Cruces, NM, which is in the heart of the Mesilla Valley. We provide a positive, structured, caring environment that is conducive to individual growth and development. The level advancement system is the foundation of our program.
Treatment is provided by a team of specialized, trained staff who will focus on each individual patient and their specific needs. The team consists of:
- Psychiatric Nurse
- Adjunctive Therapist
- Educational Specialist
- Mental Health Technician
The Level system consists of Levels 1, 2, 3 and Honors. The purpose of Level 1 is for the patient to become familiar with the program rules, expectations and reasons for the need for treatment. Level 2 is to gain trust from peers and staff. Level 3 is for the patient to be honest with himself by exploring behaviors and relationships with families and recognizing self-defeating behaviors. Honors are where all three levels come together and focus on the adolescent returning home. It is during this level that patients create a final presentation, which will display their understanding of treatment issues and the progress they have made. Adolescents will prepare a 30-minute presentation for their peers and staff focused on a topic that they feel addresses their treatment and success.
